Wow, I haven't written for

Wow, I haven't written for while...

Well here are some cools things I've stumbled upon since i last wrote.

The new Sigur Ros CD, "( )", is awesome.

The Pavement DVD, "Slow Century", is also awesome.

The ReRelease of Pavement's "Slanted and Enchanted" is awesome.

I also got Death Cab for Cutie's "You can Play these Songs with chords," I haven't listened to it yet.

I'm going to see Beck tomorrow, I'm so freaking excited!

I'm going to see Sigur Ros on Friday, that's going to be the greatest show ever... yes, even better then Radiohead...

Hmmm what else...

"The Butcher Boy" was a good movie. So were "The Two Towns of Jasper" and "Titticut Follys." The latter two being documentaries.

Hmmm... that's it for now I guess... goodbye...

I just saw the movie

I just saw the movie "Bowling for Columbine." One of the best movies I've seen in awhile. Very very powerful, depressing, infuriating, yet hilarious. Everybody go see it! I'll write more about it after processing it a little more...

Just got back from a

Just got back from a "die in" at Union Square Park, my roommate Leonard is still dead laying out on the side of the road. I wussed out. I had to call my mom anyways...

I got good news! I'm going to Colorado this winter after going to Seattle. Woohoo! I hate to leave Seattle early, but this will be fun... the flight is going to suck though. I fly from Seattle to NY, maybe stay a night, then fly from NY to Denver. Lots of flying... Yucky, but it's all good...

Hmmm what else today... I took an "are you indie" test, and the person I got was Gideon Yago from mtv2, wtf... it said "just because you own a weezer cd, it doesn't make you indy!" wtf... I own three weezer cds! hmph, ugh... hahaha. Anyways, to raise my indy cred I bought a Silver Mt Zion and a Mogwai CD, so ha!

Anyways, this Silver Mt Zion cd is awesome. This band is amazing...

Ok, nothing else to write about for now... i'll try to write more later tonight...

Today I had my first

Today I had my first "looking out the window to see a naked old guy" experience... it was only his butt, but still... ugh...

Current mp3 count is at

Current mp3 count is at about 1,320. Yay, I've copied most of my CDs over to my computer and am now working on some of Leonards that I want, but don't have...

One album that I didn't enjoy the first time through very much, but like a lot now: ...and you will know us by the trail of dead's latest CD Source Tags & Codes. Good album. I'm going to have to revisit their older stuff...

I had another class canceled today! Everybody in NY is getting sick it seems... well I have to go to my last class of the day now, so I better bizounce...

P.S. - If anybody has any recommendations for mp3s to download leave messages...

Oh yeah, and for any Sigur Ros or Godspeed you Black Emperor! fans... the new albums are up on Soulseek apparently... I'm working on downloading them...

Today I started on my

Today I started on my quest to collect more Mp3s then Francis who has about 5000... I'm at about 500... during the process I discovered an awesome band. They're called A Silver Mt. Zion, they're a spin off of Godspeed you Black Emperor. It was started by some of the members of gybe and it's a similar style of music with more Orchestra. Gorgeous stuff!

other stuff I've been listening to a lot...

The Flaming Lips
Sigur Ros
Refused
The Beach Boys...

GRRRRRRRRRRR! So i get up

GRRRRRRRRRRR! So i get up three hours early this morning so that I could finish up my essay. I get to class and class is canceled! GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH! Here's a quote from

AAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!

Here's a quote from Justin TImberlake...

"I don't know if people will get this, but the way I treated my vocals in the verse of 'Take It From Here' was like [Radiohead's] Thom Yorke or [Coldplay's] Chris Martin," he added. "To me, Radiohead and Coldplay are the modern-day Beatles. I would love to do a duet with Chris Martin someday. That would just be something so original, and I know I could pull it off. It may not happen, but it doesn't hurt to put it out there."

"the way I treated my vocals in the verse of 'Take It From Here' was like [Radiohead's] Thom Yorke"

WWWWWWWWWTTTTTTTTTTTFFFFFFFF!!!

UGH!

This guy's really asking for it...

Ate at a dining hall

Ate at a dining hall I've never ate at today, it's in the residence hall Mandy Moore lives in!

Here's what I ate...

Two Slices of Pizza
Fish
Mashed Potatoes
Minestrone Soup
Carrot Cake
Chocolate Cake
Pudding
Sprite

Mmmm... lots of food, I'm really full!

Watched a movie today called "Scratch." It's actually a documentary about DJs. Pretty good, I remembered hearing about it when it played at the Seattle Film Festival. Even if you're not really into that sort of music (such as myself) it was an interesting watch.

Had an interesting conversation with my brother yesterday...

My friend comes back from her trip tonight, i'm very excited to talk to her. So I'm gonna finish this entry and just sit here and wait now with a big grin across my face.

This is a paraphrase of

This is a paraphrase of a weird phone call I recently had...

"Hey, this is (i forget her name) I'm in your english class. You said I could borrow your notes."

"Um... who?"

"(i still forget her name)"

"I'm sorry... I don't remember telling anybody that..."

"What!? I asked you a couple days ago! You said yes"

"I'm sorry... um..."

"Why you gotta wig out on me like that? I see, this is because I'm black huh?"

"No, I just don't remember anybody asking me that, are you sure you have the right person?"

"Do you think I'm stupid? Of course!"

"Seriously... I have no idea what you're talking about..."

"I see how it is, do you have any idea how many times a sister like me has heard this sort of crap fron a white boy like you?"

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! WHite boy huh? I'm sorry... I'm not white."

Click....

Hahahaha, true story. I should've pretended I was someone else and started being mean back, but at the moment I was laughing too hard to think straight. Oh well... Anyways... what i did today....

Woke up at 1... ate... watched tv... slept... woke up... ate... now I'm here! The ultimate in lazy days!!! Now I have to work on my homework and later tonight I'm going to do my laundry...

I got a couple CDs yesterday. I got a Beach Boys classics album and Refused's The Shape of Punk to Come. Both albums rule in very different ways. Yesterday i also saw Ralph Nader speak in front of the New York Stock Exchange about corporate crime. Interesting stuff. Tomorrow I'll probably going to an antiwar rally in Central Park, I probably have a better chance of getting pepper sprayed there then I did yesterday. Getting pepper sprayed is my ultimate goal during my stay here in NY. Once I've accomplished that i will have truely lived.

Ok, gotta go. Bye
