Last post until I'm back

Last post until I'm back in NY.

One of my two suitcases is solely devoted to DVDs... ewww...

I'm depriving myself of listening to Radiohead until the concert.

Radiohead tomorrow... so why doesn't my current mood say "excited?" Because I'm tired. Duh.

Next post coming Tuesday most likely... after my first day of classes. Woohoo.

Today I had an orthodontist

Today I had an orthodontist appointment AND a dentist appointment...

My orthodontist appointment went really fast. Literally less than 2 minutes. I sat down, he looked at my teeth and I was done.

My dentist appointment was significantly longer and also embarrassing. You see... last week while putting in my top retainer I noticed something I had not seen before... it was a dark spot on my teeth so I was like "omg, I have a cavity." I told the person who was cleaning my teeth this and it was later revealed that it was actually a filling that I've had for many many years... um... doh? Yeah...

Well, she informed me that my toothbrush is too stiff and that I'm wearing away at my gums which will never grow back! She handed me a soft toothbrush and wished me well. That was the end of my adventure to the dentist.

I went to Bank of America today and once again there was an attractive teller! What's with this company!? I don't understand... this time it was a cute Asian girl named Lydia. *sigh* It was another one of those situations where I'm standing in line and thinking "Oooh ooooh oooh I hope she helps me, crap that other person is going to finish first, nooooo, please please please, aghhh, wait, she's done! Booyah!" That was fun.

I started packing today and I bought a CD organizer thing and finally cleared up some space on my bookshelf where I had tons of CD cases sitting around.

My nose has been stuffy lately and that's really annoying.

One more week until I get back to school. From what I'm told Leonard and I have our own bathroom and our rooms are "huge." Hopefully Sidra wasn't exaggerating... If there's anything any of you people in 1607 need me to bring let me know!

Camp tomorrow, I'll be back Friday. Peace.

My friend Ji left for

My friend Ji left for Michigan yesterday! AGH! I saw him last night, received the most awkward hug ever (who the heck hugs while sticking out their pelvis...?) and gave him a photo of himself blown up, how egotistical right? He had gotten into NYU too but chose to go to Michigan... jerk...

Another friend also left for Virginia today but I'll probably see him once in awhile.

Radiohead is in a week. Hell yeah. I repeated, hell yeah.

Everybody is moving in tomorrow it seems and I'm the only dork moving in a whole week later. Boo. Oh well, it'll be worth it. I'll be calling Leonard tomorrow and making him tell me all about our room. Hopefully it's nice, I'm pretty sure it will be.

I don't know what else to write, I'll probaby post more often and post longer and more interesting things once I get back to school, until then you all have to suffer through these boring posts. Peace.

Today I went to the

Today I went to the Everett Aquasox (Mariner's minor league team, single A I think...) game against the Vancouver Canadians. A friend of a friend is the first basemen for the Canadians so we went. He's probably the biggest Korean I've ever seen and is supposed to be rising up through the minor league system pretty quickly. He got drafted only a couple months ago and that's why he's playing on this crappy team.

Anyway, the Canadians lost 19 - 1 but Eddie Kim, the Korean guy had a homerun. The teams only point of the game. Afterwards I met him and he's a really nice guy although he's intimidating. He could've killed me with one swipe of his arm...

What else... my buddy David Kim is leaving for Maryland so he used his cooking skills he's obtained from watching the Food Network and made us ribs. Very good stuff. I'll be going down there often now and making him cook for me. Sweet.

Okay, I'm really full and tired but I don't want to sleep yet. I hate sleeping when I'm this full, I wake up feeling gross. My Mensa practice test arrived today. I'm going to take it then decide whether I really want to take the real thing. Okay, bye.

Woohoo! I got two Super

Woohoo! I got two Super 8 cameras at the Goodwill for under $10. Both work except the nicer one isn't actually nicer because the viewfinder is broken :( Oh well, now I just need to find somewhere in the Seattle area that sells Super 8 film...

Most annoying song of the

Most annoying song of the summer: "Stacy's Mom" by Fountains of Wayne.

Now that I have SoulSeek

Now that I have SoulSeek working again I'm downloading Mp3s like crazy. Yesterday I downloaded a whole bunch of hip hop freestyle battles including Eyedea vs. Eminem (which actually turned out to be some other crappy rapper rapping alone sounding more bored than Mase.)

Other stuff I've recently downloaded

Death Cab for Cutie - Transatlanticism
Can - Tago Mago and Future Days
The Mars Volta - De-Loused in the Comatorium
Blur - Parklife
Queens of the Stone Age - I dunno what the album's called...

I also downloaded the new Radiohead B-Sides.

Not much other news... I'm calling up some friends tomorrow and going to see Agguire: The Wrath of God

Oh yeah, I've been watching lots of Little League World Series and Texas Hold'Em on ESPN lately.

blah blah blah?

OH YEAH! The biggest news: my new short term goal: I'm going to get into Mensa! I took a practice twist on their website and went through it while simultaneously watching the Little League World Series and scored high enough to get in. Now I just have to take the real thing. I rationalized my chances of getting in to Leonard and don't feel I need to do it again, expect a scan of my membership card sometime within the next year... hahaha.

I finally got SoulSeek working

I finally got SoulSeek working yesterday after months and months of it freezing on me! It was a rather simple fix so I'm not going to explain because it's embarrassing... Now that SoulSeek is working again I can erase Kazaa. The first thing I downloaded yesterday was the new Deathcab for Cutie album: Transatlanticism which I'm enjoying a lot. I think I might go leave a note at their recording studio commending them on a job well done... I'll probably also mention that I work right next door and hope they visit when they're back from their tour...

Some other stuff I've downloaded is some older Wilco and some stuff by a German band named Can. Both good stuff.

I'm currently on eBay looking for random stuff... most notably a Pavement night light that my friend Alex got and I must now have.

Today at half price books they had Fellini's Orchestra Rehearsal and Truffaut's Love on the Run and The Soft Skin for sale for $10 each, I picked up all three. I haven't seen any of them but at their worst both directors are at least interesting.

I'm currently downloading Radiohead's show from last night using Bit Torrent which is a neat downloading program. The file is almost 900mb though and it's telling me I have 50 hours left... eww.

Agguire: The Wrath of God is playing at the Grand Illusion starting tomorrow. I'm so there.

Whoa, Radiohead played Creep today

Whoa, Radiohead played Creep today in their first show of the U.S. tour. Thom Yorke was laughing while singing the first couple lines from what I'm reading but I guess that's pretty cool. It's a cheesy song but I wouldn't mind seeing it live...

Well, the guests from Korea left today and now I can relax! I slept untila round 3ish today and that was SO nice. Although I just yawned while typing that last sentence. I really should have more to write about right now but I don't so I'll end the entry here. The end.

I just got censored in

I just got censored in the NYU Live Journal community!!!

There was a thread bashing NYU housing and Francis replied saying how he liked it because it offered him a chance to meet his suitemates who he became friends with and is living with again.

Awww, right?

Well, afterwards, Leonard added a reply to Francis saying that he went through a similar situation and that he's going to be living in Lafayette 1607. This is all a joke because so is Francis. They're just being weird in typical 607 fashion.

Unable to resist I decide to get in on the action and reply to both of them in the threat by saying "you two are losers... if I had roommates like you I'd shoot myself."

Needless to say, my post has disappeared! I went back to check to see if they had replied and my message was gone! Grrr...

Isn't there an organization I can contact about this sort of injustice...?

Oh yeah, I'm back from camping. It was fun. The End.

Work is over, I got the new Mogwai CD which I listened to on the way home. It's very very good.

I also got a Blood Brothers DVD, it was only 8 bucks so I bought it. I'm watching it right now and it's pretty good except for the sound which is sub par...

LaserHead!

I saw laser Radiohead today at the Science Center today! Totally cool stuff. The music was pumped in through a 1500 Watt sound system and the images were super trippy.

The setlist wasn't really the greatest. They played stuff like Electioneering and You, songs I'm not that fond of although I don't hate them by any means. On the bright side they played There There, Paranoid Android, Idioteque and other really cool songs (since Radiohead apparently has lots of them). My favorite was Pyramid Song which was done with simulated stars and a northern lights type thing.

*Note to self (and Leonard)* Not only does 1607C need a star thingy in the room, laser pens would also be cool to hold laser shows while laying in bed trying to fall asleep. Hell yeah. *end of note*

Okay, that's all.

Happy Birthday to me...

4:40am and my friends have just left...

My birthday started off slow, I had lunch with family then came home and fell asleep.

Phone calls would periodically come in wishing me happy birthday and that was it. Unfortunately most of them came during my nap so I wasn't able to get a lot of sleep at once.

Eventually I got up and called some friends whom I told I would call back after my nap. I called them in order and the first phone call went a little like this:

Me: Hey, what're you up to?
Ji: Nothing just sitting around at home, you wanna hang out?
Me: Sure
Ji: Okay, just a sec lemme call you back.
Me: Okay

I wait, he calls back

Ji: Um, I'm hanging out with friends right now, I'll call you later.
Me: Um, okay...

Um... he just said he was at home, pretty whack right? Yeah, I thought so too.

So then I called Andrew and Alex and arranged to shoot our short film tonight and that was all good.

Afterwards my brother and mom tell me we're going to have dinner. At 9pm. I'm like okay... that's a little weird my mom doesn't eat that late but I go along with it while being a little suspicious...

We leave to go eat and of course my mom is like you guys go on ahead so now it's pretty obvious something is up, or is it? My buddy Kenny is still online and he's neither idle nor away so then I'm like hmmmm maybe not...

Well, I get to Red Robin and a bunch of people are there and I'm like "oh, haha, you shouldn't have, blah blah" not too surprised but that's not to say I wasn't grateful. Turns out Kenny's computer is screwed up and AIM says he's online even when his computer is off, damn AIM...

Unfortunately I had to call Andrew and Alex and cancel the shoot but have no fear, it will go on as originally planned on Monday night.

After dinner a large group of us went to my house to get our gamble on. We started out playing Texas Hold'em and eventually moved on to playing war for money... that was the most idiotic thing ever... I lost about 10 bucks, a couple of my friends lost all their money and one of my friends earned about 40. Luck is a very weird thing...

After hours and hours of war we moved on to a card game called Thirteen which me and the three other people left at my house played for a couple hours. I was able to earn back some of my money here and also on one game of war in which my friend and I both bet $9.25 (phew!). Lots of change was switching hands but I came out about even eventually. It's all just change I've collected over the past year anyway. Since we're all friends tempers were never flaring or anything either so it was fun. We ended up playing cards for a total of about 6 and a half hours. Ugh...

Time to get some sleep and get ready to clean up the living room real quick before the guests arrive tomorrow afternoon. Seeya.

Oh yeah, as for the guy who totally dissed me, it turns out he had organized the whole thing at Red Robin so he's forgiven

Whew a long day. I

Whew a long day. I met my lawyer today because I'm being sued by the guy who hit me a little under two years ago. I guess you get two years from the date of the accident to file a claim and two years is up in October so they're suing my ass now. The accident was my fault and the guy who's suing me is the guy that hit me. They want about $60,000 to cover medical bills. Luckily my insurance covers that with ease.

What bothers me is that when I worked at Hollywood Video I met this guy two or three times months after the accident and asked him about his family and everything and he said they were fine. So wtf? Jerk. He was renting the Omega Code too, I should sue his ass for supporting bad filmmaking.

One cool thing is that if the trial is while I'm at school my insurance company will fly me back for free. Neato. Most likely they'll just make it during the winter, oh well.

After returning from the meeting I went to the golf range with my brother and my friend Ji. Our buddy Dan was working there so he hooked us up with tons of free tokens which was cool. We were at the range for probably a couple hours. It was all free so took advantage of the situation.

When we got back we played some Go Stop (a popular Korean gambling game), Texas Hold'em, Five Card Draw, and a stupid game were you put cards to your forehead so that you can only see your opponents and you try to figure out if you have the highest. We used all four games to gamble, the last one being the stupidest and most intense. Money was trading hands like crazy and I ended up losing a lot. Damnit... We did that for about four hours I think, time went by really fast.

We sat down to play some cards and the next thing I know I'm 20! Weird...

Anyway, Happy Birthday to Ian and to all a good night... well actually everybody's asleep already, so good morning/afternoon whatever. Hi, bye, I'm out, peace.
